Professionals. College stars. Hometown heroes. Big names. Powder League 2022 had it all. From former Utah standout Parker Van Dyke exploding for 85 points—to incredible performances from NBA players Kyle Kuzma, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, Delon Wright, and Rookie of the Year Scottie Barnes—there was no shortage of high-level basketball. It marked just the third season for the league, named after Utah’s famous powdery slopes that attract skiers and snowboarders from around the world.
“This is what we envisioned when we started this a few years ago,” said league co-founder Keegan Rembacz when asked about the state of the young league. “We are proud of how far we have come… We still have a long ways to go to get to where we want to be.”
The league is part of a growing number of pro-am leagues that seek to give the best basketball players in the world a place to play high-level basketball during the summer. It gives kids who may not be able to go to NBA games a chance to meet some of their favorite players, and it grows—and showcases—the basketball culture that exists in Utah.
Despite playing in a gym without air conditioning during the sweltering heat of the hottest months of the year, the league continues to improve and grow its reach.
PROLOOK is honored to have been a sponsor of the Powder League. While most people do not think of Utah as a hotbed for basketball talent or culture, Powder League has proved them wrong. With some of the best basketball—and uniforms—in the country, Powder League and PROLOOK have put the state of Utah’s basketball culture on the map.
I love this partnership!
